Hardware

The Grimage platform consists in:

• 1 Sony Head Mounted Display HMZ-T1 with virtual 5.1 surround sound and 720p 3D/2D images.
• 12 color digital video cameras, 8 black and white digital video cameras, and genlocking system for synchronized multi-camera video acquisitions.
• 2 NVIDIA GTX 680.
• Since 2012, a high performance tracking system ART with 3 infra-red cameras and 1 controller that provides accurate data computing for the tracking. More informations about ARTtrack2 system here.
• A full light system for precise control of the lighting environment.
• A 2mx2.7m display wall of 16 Sanyo LCD video projectors. The system can switch from a monoscopic setup (4096x3072 pixels) to a passive stereo configuration (4096x1536 pixels).
• A PC cluster of 11 dual-xeon PCs and 16 dual opteron PCs connected through a dual Gigabit Ethernet network.
• The PC cluster is connected to the icluster2 itanium based cluster and a 48 dual-Xeon processor cluster through a 10 gigabit Etherent connection used when extra computing power is required. GrImage is also connected to Grid5000 for grid experiments.
